Loss of Gene Promotes Brain-Tumor Development, Reduces Survival

Description: This January 2011 study shows that loss of a gene called NFKBIA promotes the growth of glioblastoma multiforme, the most common and deadly form of brain cancer. It suggests that NFKBIA status might be a predictor of survival and treatment outcomes in some glioblastoma patients, and that therapies that stabilize this gene might improve survival for some glioblastoma patients.
