Description: The CLL Community is closely following the latest clinical trials with new drugs that are called "kinase inhibitors. These drugs, most notably what was called PCI32765 (now Ibrutinib) and what as CAL101 (now GS1101), may have "kinder and gentler" therapy for older patients that is still highly effective. These drugs, combined with other therapies, may create a new treatment regimen for younger patients too. A lead investigator is a regular Patient Power contributor, Dr. Susan O'Brien from MD Anderson Cancer Center. Here's an update from her at the very recent ASCO meeting in Chicago.
