Description: With smoldering myeloma, patients may be concerned about progression from asymptomatic to symptomatic disease. Regular oncology clinic visits may result in a range of tests, from simple blood tests to sophisticated MRI or PET CT imaging and even bone marrow biopsy. In this video, Dr. Robert Orlowski describes his recommendations for monitoring for disease progression using various diagnostic tests suggesting that if patients are concerned about symptoms, that he has "a very low threshold for getting additional imaging."
